Caring, collaborative, and innovative work

‘‘Knowing that people I work with feel comfortable means a lot to me.”

Laure started at OneChocolate almost 10 years ago as a junior PR consultant, before taking up the position of Account Director in 2018. Her dedication to passing on her knowledge and serenity to her colleagues, coupled with her extensive experience within the PR industry, allow her to create a positive working atmosphere. She endeavours to build a bridge between journalists and customers while meeting the latters’ expectations. She also makes a point of ensuring that everyone is recognised for their work.

Throughout her career, Laure faced many professional challenges. She launched her career with an internship in a Parisian agency where she discovered PR by working for customers in the toy industry, before being hired as a junior Press Officer in a larger company, where she worked for a company specialised in editing and managing restaurant vouchers. There, she was able to learn the ropes and discover most aspects of PR. At this point, she felt the desire to work in an agency again. Her endless curiosity, as well as her natural thirst for learning, made her the perfect fit for OneChocolate’s working culture.

This cooking enthusiast, who is also an aficionada of Virginie Despentes’ works, also has a passion for travelling and discovering the world. During her studies at NEOMA Business School, she had the opportunity to take part in a one-year exchange programme in the Netherlands, where she was able to immerse herself in another culture. When asked what her greatest dream would be, Laure willingly answers that she does not really have one, but that she would be content to enjoy a happy and serene life.

As her husband recently embarked in a new career project, they moved to south-western France, where she can enjoy a more spacious home – and the proximity of vineyards to perfect her knowledge in the oenology field. “In my case, the ability to work remotely and the flexibility of modern working methods at OneChocolate are a definite advantage,” she said. “This allowed me to move without having to switch jobs and I am able to regularly commute to our offices in Paris.”

Her natural propensity to value teamwork, as well as her robust skills, make her the ideal fit to fulfill her role within the agency and pass on her knowledge to her less experienced colleagues. “My aim is to create an atmosphere where everyone can feel good and I always ensure others get the credit they deserve,” she added. The diversity of tasks she undertakes always give her “new opportunities to learn”. In addition, this young mother, who also displays a force of character, does not hesitate to express her admiration for people who demonstrate extraordinary commitment and determination when it comes to defending their beliefs, like the activist Greta Thunberg for instance.

Quotes

  • My perception of work?

Work is a large part of our daily lives. That is why, professionally, one should always strive to be above reproach, but it is also essential to ensure that work is never associated with boredom. Therefore, it is essential to remain constantly innovative and creative by learning or relearning new ways of doing things. Personally, I like challenges and novelty; at OneChocolate, I am able to discover new things every day and to pass on what I have learned. What more could I ask for?

  • If I had to mention something that changed my life?

It may sound cliché, but the birth of my daughter has fundamentally transformed the way I see and approach life. It has put my desire to share knowledge and care for others back at the very centre of my existence.  While being able to balance professional and personal aspects of my life has always been important to me, it has now become paramount. My working at OneChocolate allows me to enjoy every opportunity in life while also giving me the occasion to improve myself and acquire new knowledge and skills every day.
